Bonding

Some plastics, especially commercial plastics, react to a product based on methylene chloride. This product, which is very volatile, affects the two plastic surfaces that are in contact and when the chloride evaporates, the two surfaces remain fused together. Since it's more of a fusion than a collage, the result is very robust. This process is  very effective on acrylic, but can also be used on other plastics such as polycarbonate, ABS, PETG and styrene. On the other hand, the result will be less resistant than with acrylic. Some more specialized products can then be used to obtain a better result. Since some products cannot be chemically bonded, a welding process must be used.
