Plastics are thermoformable materials, which means their shape can be modified in the presence of heat. If the plastic is heated locally, it then becomes very simple to bend at the desired angle. When the plastic cools, it retains the shape that has been given to it. Some plastics will react better than others to heat. The most used plastics for folding are: acrylic (Plexiglass), ABS, PETG (glicolated polyethylene taraphthalate), or polycarbonate (Lexan).
