Acetal

Characteristics

Acetal (Delrin) is a synthetic polymer. It possesses a highly crystalline resin that provides it with hardness, rigidity, and an extremely low coefficient of friction when in contact with metal, other acetals, or different plastic materials. It is available in various grades.

Easily machinable, it's notably popular in the marine industry due to its low rate of liquid and moisture absorption. FDA-approved, it suits the food market well. It demonstrates excellent dynamic stability and a low coefficient of friction. While sensitive to strong acids or oxidizing agents, it's nonetheless resistant to chemicals.
