Nylon

Characteristics

Nylon is an easily machinable polyamide. Various additives can be incorporated into its composition to impart specific capabilities. It's naturally highly resistant to wear and compression, making it utilized across all industrial sectors.

Nylon comes in several grades such as Nyloil (oil-filled nylon), nylon MOS 2, natural nylon, and Nyloil FG. Its fundamental characteristics can also be modified by adding additives. For instance, a liquid additive like oil will make it self-lubricating (Nyloil), while a solid additive like molybdenum disulfide will enhance its resistance to wear and compression (Nylon GSm, MD-filled nylon, or Nylatron).
